Ian: When I’m actually painting? Yeah. I don’t like to get my clothes messed up. The streaks of color are strategic though lol

Jesse: Huh.

Ian: Judging me?

Jesse: No… But no wonder people approach you at cons if they think they can get a chance with you. These pics are 100% thirst inducing gold

Ian: *shrug* In the past it felt really empowering but now it’s sort of just a habit because I know my fans like it. Also, it contributes to me getting laid sometimes at cons? I prefer to hang out with people like us.

Jesse: Nerds? Lol

Ian: Yeah. Geeks and freaks! My people. :) I feel safer with people like us than like… app hookups or randoms. If someone hits on me in person, I get nervous and freaked out.

Jesse: People at cons are still random though. It’s not like you know them all

Ian: Yeah, but when I’m at the con I have my Cerise armor on. I’m like… choosing how people see me. Owning my shit. Whether it’s me painting in skintight leather or cosplayed out in chain mail--it’s all on my terms. I need that sometimes. A lot of times.

Jesse: But it wasn’t like that with me

Ian: No. That was different.

Jesse: Good

Ian: Why is that good?

Jesse: Because I know we’re supposed to be platonic friends, but I still want to pretend I’m special to you? And I’m pathetic enough to just lay that out there?

Ian: It’s not pathetic. And you are special.

Jesse: *heart emoji*
